The short version
Party of Two is a dating app for people who don't want kids. To match you with people, we need some information about you, and other members see the parts of your profile you choose to share. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and you can delete your account anytime from inside the app.
This policy covers the Party of Two waitlist on this website, the Party of More (single parents) notify list, and the Party of Two app. If you join the Party of More list, we keep only your first name, email and city, use them only to tell you when Party of More launches, and never add you to Party of Two.
What other members can see
Other signed-in members can see your profile: your first name, your age (not your birthday), your city, your photos and pet photos, your bio, what you wrote about your pets, your religion and politics (only if you chose to add them), your zodiac sign (only if you chose to show it), your prompt answers, and any badges you've earned, including a Verified badge. Your profile is only shown to signed-in members, never to the public internet.
If you like someone, they may see you in their "Liked you" list. Other members can never see your email address, your birthday, your answers to the sign-up questions, who you've hidden or blocked, or who invited you.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist: your first name, email, city, age range, gender, who you're looking for, your confirmation that you don't want kids, an invite code if a friend gave you one, and when you signed up.
When you use the app:
- Account: your email address, used to send you sign-in codes.
- Sign-up answers: your birthday (to confirm you're 18 or older and show your age), your no-kids pledge, and your answers to "Do you have kids?" and "Are you open to having kids in the future?".
- Profile: first name, city, gender, who you're looking for, photos, pet photos, pet details, an optional bio, prompt answers, (optional) height, job, school, languages and lifestyle answers (drinking, smoking, cannabis, working out), and (optional) your religion, politics, whether to show your zodiac sign (worked out from your birthday), and the religions, politics and signs you'd like to see.
- Photo verification (optional): if you ask to be verified, a selfie of you copying a pose. Only our team sees it, to compare it with your profile photos, and we delete the selfie once it's been checked. We keep only whether you're verified.
- Dates (optional): date plans you save (only you can see them) and your private answers to "How did it go?" check-ins. The other person never sees your answers; we use them to keep members safe.
- Activity: who you like (and any comment you add to a like), save, skip, hide, match with, and block; when you were last active (shown to others only as "Active today"); when you last read each chat (shown to that match as "Read"); your messages with matches; and reports you make or that are made about you.
- Invites and premium: your invite code, who joined with it (and whose code you used), and when your premium time ends.
- Safety information: an app-specific ID for each phone you use (iPhone and Android give each app its own ID, which isn't shared with other companies' apps), and a small "fingerprint" of each photo you upload. We use these only to stop banned members from coming back with new accounts or the same photos.
- Technical information: our service providers automatically log basic technical details, like your IP address and when you signed in, to keep the service running and secure.
We don't collect your precise location. We only know the city you type in.
How we use it
- To create your account, sign you in, and show your profile to other members
- To decide who appears in your feed (for example, people in your city who are looking for someone like you)
- To run likes, matches, chat, saves, invites, and free premium weeks
- To keep members safe: reviewing reports, warning or banning members who break the rules, and stopping banned members from rejoining
- To email you sign-in codes and important updates about your account
- To decide which cities to launch in and improve Party of Two
Your messages
Your messages are private between you and your match. We don't read them, with one exception: when someone reports a member, a copy of their conversation with that member is saved with the report so we can review what happened. The reporter can point out the specific messages that show the problem.
Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't use advertising networks. We use a few service providers to run Party of Two, and they handle your data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase, which hosts our database (including the waitlist), sign-in, chat, and photo storage
- Resend, which sends our emails, like sign-in codes
- Netlify, which hosts this website
- Apple and Google, which distribute the app through their app stores
We may also share information if required by law, or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
- Your account: until you delete it. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, photos, likes, saves, matches, chats, devices, and photo fingerprints.
- Reports: reports you made or that were made about you are kept after you delete your account so safety reviews can finish, but they're no longer linked to your account.
- Banned accounts: if an account is banned, we keep its email address, phone IDs, and photo fingerprints so it can't rejoin, even if the account is deleted.
- "Why are you leaving?" answers: kept anonymously, never linked to you.
- Waitlist: until Party of Two launches in your area, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Your choices
- Edit your profile anytime in the app.
- Hide or block anyone. Blocked members can't see you anywhere in the app.
- Delete your account anytime: open your profile in the app and tap "Delete account".
- Get a copy of your data, or ask questions: email us and we'll help.
Depending on where you live (for example California, the UK, or the EU), you may have extra rights, like knowing what we hold about you or correcting it. Email us and we'll respond within the time the law requires.
Age requirement
Party of Two is only for adults 18 and older. Everyone confirms their birthday at sign-up. If we learn someone under 18 has joined, we'll remove the account and delete their information.
Security
Your information is sent over secure connections. Each member can only access their own private data, and photos are stored privately so only signed-in members can see them. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we'll let members know in the app or by email.
